NOTE: In EARLY SETTLERS AND LATER FAMILES OF THE BETHANY-JENNINGS CHAPEL COMMUNITY, NATCHITOCHES, LA, Thomas F. Jennings says they came to LA around 1830 to mid 1830's from TN. However, they do not show on the LA census until the 1850 Sabine Pr., LA, and both are deceased by 1860. They settled on land across the road south from the McCaskill Cemetery in Sabine Pr., LA. There are a number of William Allred listings on the 1830 & 1840 Tennessee censuses who have the correct ages and number of children but because these censuses only list head of households it is impossible to determine which is our William Allred.
