Thru the years many researchers have attempted to connect Michael D., David H., and James (Jim or Jacob) with this Peter Dirr. No records have been found that listed all three brothers, Michael, David, and James (or Jacob). Almost all Durr families have many Michael or Jacob Durrs but the name David was extremely rare. There are several people on "Ancestry.com" who currently have Jacob Durr or Peter Durr from this family linked with David H. & Michael D. Durr.... no proof is provided to explain what they based this link on....
Until now! After exhausting all other options, a descendant of William Rufus Durr agreed to do a Y-DNA test. His DNA report matched with a known, documented, descendant of Peter Durr. At this time we are not sure which of Peter's sons is the father of Michael, David, and James. With the help of the other Peter Durr descendants we may be able to figure this out.

There was a Jacob Durr married to a Catherine who had the following children: Jacob, Henry, John, David, Samuel, Rebecca, Anna, Polly who lived in Pennsylvania. His son, David Durr, born 15 Jul 1798 in PA and died 7 Jan 1866 in PA, was married to Catherine Galaspy. This family seems to have stayed in the Pennyslvania area. This is one of the few families to actually have more than one David Durr and they also had many Michael and Jacob Durrs.
There was a Sebastian Durr family in Maryland, but no connection can be found to the Durrs in South Carolina.
